July 20, 2013 5:30 – 11:00 p.m.: Superhero Soiree and 4th Annual Chef Appetizer Challenge at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina (1380 Harbor Island Dr San Diego, CA 92101) Please join Meals-on-Wheels Greater San Diego, Inc. at the Superhero Soirée to raise critical funds to support the independence and well-being of San Diego seniors. Guests wearing bright comic book colors will vote for the annual “Chefy Award” winner, bid on silent and live auctions, and dance the night away. Full plated dinner and cocktails included in ticket purchase. $150 per person from February 1, 2013 until June 15, 2013, then $175.00 per person; $1,500 per 10 person table. August 3, 2013: 12:00 – 6:00 p.m.: Gourmet Food Truck Festival (Del Mar Thoroughbred Club: 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd Del Mar, CA 92014, Seaside Concert Area, West of grandstand). Bring your appetite as some of the tastiest food on wheels comes to Del Mar. Enjoy a variety of some of the hottest eats in Southern California as over 50 food trucks, all in one location, with real gourmet chefs serve their eclectic bests at super prices (most items $4-$8). Participating trucks include fan favorites such as The Lobsta Truck, The Lime Truck and Devilicious! Free admission to the Food Truck area with paid racetrack admission of $6 for adults. August 6-8, 2013: 2:30 p.m. Arrival: Fishing for Charity (Fisherman’s Landing 2838 Garrison Street, San Diego, CA 92106). Once again, Meals-on-Wheels and Fish. Food. Feel Good. will host the 2nd Fishing for Charity event on the beautiful Shogun 92’ luxury Fishing Boat. 25 fishermen will embark on a trip at dusk on August 6th and will return in the morning of August 8th. $400 per fisherman, includes fishing license and meals. September 20, 2013 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.: Padres Tailgate and Game. Join us for the last game of the Padres season against the Dodgers! Enjoy dinner and drinks at the tailgate starting at 4:00 p.m., and then head to the game at 7:00 p.m. Proceeds benefit Meals-on-Wheels Greater San Diego, Inc.
