MARCH FOR MEALS 2008 A HUGE SUCCESS!

March for Meals is a national campaign designed to encourage volunteerism and financial support of home-delivered meal programs.

Thanks to all participants!

Mayors and Council Members throughout San Diego County joined hundreds of Mayors across the country and delivered meals to seniors in their local communities in observance of Mayors for Meals Day.

March 19, 2008 - Pernicano's Spaghetti Dinner
Thank you to everyone who participated in 11th Annual Spaghetti Dinner to benefit home delivered meals for San Diego County seniors.  In its eleventh year, this event has raised thousands of dollars to support the independence and well being of seniors.   Mr. John Pernicano contributes 50% of the proceeds for each $10 ticket sold. What a great way to make a differance and enjoy good food and great friends!

Meals-on-Wheels Gala Award of Recognition
At the event, Meals-on-Wheels presented a special recognition award to one of our most dedicated partner organizations,
Foothills United Methodist Church.
For the past 15 years, members of the church have been volunteering to deliver meals six days a week!
Volunteers are the hearts and hands of Meals-on-Wheels
and the contribution Foothills United Methodist Church has made over the years is overwhelming.
