Besides home-delivered meals, Meals on Wheels provides the following services through our partnerships with agencies in the community:
Animeals: We deliver free dog and cat food to our clients for their furry loved-ones as a result of the Pet Assistance Grant program funded by Banfield Charitable Trust and managed by Meals on Wheels America.
Waggin’ Wheels: Free, in-home visits by pet therapy dogs through our partnerships with the San Diego Humane Society.
Smoke Detector Replacement: For clients over the age of 62, the Burn Institute will install free lifesaving smoke alarms in your home.
Fresh Fruits and Vegetables: For our clients living in outlying rural areas, Meals on Wheels will deliver free fresh fruits and vegetables as a result of our partnership with Feeding America and the Jacobs and Cushman Food Bank.
Home Clean-up and/or Minor Repair: Senior clients with limited mobility may request minor home clean-up, yard work and/or repair work from our Visionaries in Philanthropy (VIP) hands-on volunteer group.
